Invitation Electric City Couture Show Proctors GE Theater, May 24 at 8PM

Vilma Mare would like to invite local retailers to Electric City Couture ‘s fourth annual fashion show on Friday, May 24^th at the GE Theater at Proctors at 8 PM. This year ECC will be exhibiting original designs by 8 emerging regional designers. Three ensembles from Vilma Mare’s collection will be featured as part of the show.

The ECC mission is to provide a platform for regional fashion designers to connect with regional retailers to help stimulate a regional fashion based economy.

This is a chance for women’s clothiers to see multiple regional designers at once. We hope you can make it.

Seasonal Spring Fires

In many places in the world, in the very early spring, there would be a lighting of sacred fire and a joyous dance around it, symbolic of the victory over death. These ancient customs are still celebrated today in Vilma Mare’s native Lithuania.

The flame itself or even the charred sticks from these fires would be carried home to light the family hearth and then used to cook a ceremonial feast. The embers from such fires were considered sacred and healing for people, animals and plants.

The crown jewel skirt of my collection is the 3D Gotika Skirt, with 198 individual pattern pieces. It should be worn with your choice of top or my custom made corset shown in the Etsy photos.
